Bangiya
Sangeet Parishad is a pioneering cultural body in the
State of West Bengal in India. With a humble beginning
in the year 1975 Bangiya Sangeet Parishad achieved a
spectacular growth under the leadership of the founder,
a musician and a composer, Sri Subodh Ganguly.
The
objective of Bangiya Sangeet Parishad is to spread the
culture of India specially, of Eastern India through
music, painting, dance and recitation. Bangiya Sangeet
Parishad imparts training to students through affiliated
centres, conducts examination in different branches
of Performing and Visual Arts and award certificates
and prizes to successful candidates.
Bangiya
Sangeet Parishad is affiliated to Rabindra Bharati University
for Junior vocal section and the diploma awarded by
Bangiya Sangeet Parishad is recognized by Indira Kala
Sangeet Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh, M.P. The Governing
Body of Bangiya Sangeet Parishad is composed of eminent
citizens and artists.
The welfare activity, recognition of artists, research
program on folk music of Bengal, publication of quarterly
journal "Ajker Sambad Bivakar", production
of music album "Sur-Smriti-Shristhi", creation
of video archive, publication of books on music, programmes
on TV and Radio are some of the regular activities of
this organization.
